In the single-test match held at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, Indian women defeated Australian women by eight wickets. India lost two wickets in the midst of chasing down a modest score of 75 on the last day. Alyssa Healy, the captain of Australia, was seen taking pictures of the India women’s team celebrating after the game as they raised the victory trophy.

On the first day of play, India defeated Australia by 219 runs. With the help of Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana at the top of the order and Richa Ghosh, Jemimah Rodrigues, Deepti Sharma, and Pooja Vastrakar in the middle order, India raced to a dominant 187-run lead.

On the third day of the competition, Tahlia McGrath put up a strong display for Australia, recording her second fifty of the contest. Harmanpreet Kaur’s crucial wickets set up the penultimate day’s final session. Indian bowlers skillfully took the final five wickets in the morning session for just 28 runs.

Shafali Verma hit a boundary and was off early in an attempt to chase a modest 75. Still, the road to triumph was uncomplicated. In spite of Richa Ghosh’s early setbacks and a few fortunate encounters, her collaboration with Mandhana cleared the path for India’s victory.

We needed to be in the present and not return to defensive cricket. Harmanpreet Kaur

Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur thanked the support personnel, especially the batting and bowling coaches, after the game and said that years of hard work had led to the team’s achievement. She further stated that years of hard work had paid off in the form of outcomes in recent times. Furthermore, Kaur emphasized that her team kept things straightforward by sticking to the fundamentals and exercising patience during the game when it comes to preparations and in-match tactics. She also underlined the team’s dedication to playing positive cricket, remaining present, and eschewing a defensive strategy. Kaur praised the tactical decision to move Richa Ghosh up the batting order.

We reasoned that engaging in some constructive cricket play would be quite beneficial. We have been performing with this group for a very long time, and occasionally we would like to shuffle a little bit. We put Richa up because we are aware of her batting prowess and because we believe that having her there would hurt the game. We had no desire to return to playing defensive cricket. We have to savor the present. She continued, The partnerships enabled them to score a respectable total in the second inning.

As she considered the second innings, she emphasized the value of collaboration and mutual trust among the bowling unit members. Kaur specifically emphasized the important role the bowling coach has played in motivating and preparing bowlers to take wickets by acting aggressively on the field. In addition, the Indian captain thanked the audience, the BCCI, and the selectors and hoped that more Test matches would be played in the future.

“They are learning how to take wickets and not be defensive from our bowling coach. That is truly beneficial to us. I would first like to express my gratitude to BCCI for providing us with this chance, and then to all of our selectors who have shown their belief in each and every one of us by providing us with their finest side. Positive outcomes arise when all the components function cohesively. Hopefully, the next few years will see a lot more test matches. Many thanks to the audience. For us, everything went incredibly well. Kaur concluded
