At the Optus Stadium in Perth, bowler Aamer Jamal, making his Test debut for Pakistan, produced an outstanding performance in the first Test against Australia. Jamal made quite the impression on the greatest platform against one of the most formidable opponents in international cricket by capturing six wickets in the first innings and then another wicket in the second.
But Aamer Jamal life hasn’t always been simple. On the fourth day of the Perth Test, the 27-year-old talked about his early years and said that he had been rejected multiple times in his career, with many people pushing him to give up on cricket.
“A lot of people were telling me there was no chance and pressuring me to quit playing cricket. “No, there’s always hope,” I replied. You must pursue it and put in a lot of effort to achieve it. You must put in more effort than other people,” Aamer Jamal stated to Channel 7.
Yes, I participated in Pakistan U19 cricket but was unable to play first-class cricket for four years. I chose to relocate to Australia in order to participate in a few games here. I made the decision to play in the New South Wales Premier League for Hawkesbury in Sydney. For about five months, I played here. Then I found out about the upcoming Pakistan U23 visit. I desired to return there and represent my nation. I returned to Pakistan and was not given an opportunity to play for the U23 team,” he continued.

Aamer also discussed his family’s financial struggles throughout the early years of his profession. He also disclosed how he began operating a taxi to help his financial circumstances. He said it seemed unlikely that he would play for Pakistan.
“After that, we weren’t in a very good financial situation. I thus leased an automobile from a bank. I took up taxi driving. Getting adequate time to practice was too difficult for me to manage. It was difficult for me to pursue my goal of playing for Pakistan,” Jamal remarked.
