Hardik Pandya
The announcement that ace all-rounder Hardik Pandya will take over as captain of the Mumbai Indians, the five-time champion team, ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 was perhaps the greatest news of the season.

Fans of Rohit Sharma were upset to learn that Pandya will be taking over as captain in place of their idol, Rohit Sharma. Social media has been flooded with footage of a Rohit Sharma fan burning the MI shirt and hat, expressing his displeasure with the news.

Before the IPL 2024, the Mumbai Indians acquired Pandya in an all-cash transaction, bringing back the all-round player who had previously led the Gujarat Titans. While many fans were thrilled to see Hardik Pandya return, the supporters’ perceptions appear to have shifted with the change in leadership.
