New Zealand Cricket (NZC) has just released the U19 World Cup roster for 2019. The competition is scheduled for 2024 in South Africa, and the team for this high-profile event comprises numerous sons and grandsons of former Kiwi icons.
With a wealth of potential, the U19 team is eager to play brilliantly in the U19 World Cup, especially as they are coming off an undefeated campaign at the East Asia-Pacific Qualifier in Darwin.
All-arounder Zac Cumming, the son of former opening hitter Craig Cumming, is one of the players on the team. Also included in the squad is the pacer Matt Rowe, who is the cousin of the women’s pacers from New Zealand, Hannah Rowe, and Tom Jones, the grandson of the former Test captain Jeremy Coney.
It is noteworthy to mention that the U19 World Cup group D includes Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Nepal in addition to New Zealand U19. Oscar Jackson was selected to lead the team, and Jonny Bassett-Graham was selected to serve as head coach.
