The injury to captain Glenn Maxwell has dealt a severe blow to the Melbourne Stars, as he will miss their matchup against the reigning champion Perth Scorchers. Notably, he suffered a forearm injury when batting against Brisbane Heat in the first game of the season. The medical staff twice brought the 35-year-old all-rounder in to check on him, but he decided to continue playing after taping his forearm.
After making 23 runs off of 14 deliveries, he was removed from the game, and the player was seen icing his injury in the dugout. The severity of the injury is still unknown, but the Stars will certainly miss their captain in the upcoming game, especially following a humiliating 103-run loss in the season’s first encounter.

. After hurting his calf muscle while bowling against the Heat, the 36-year-old batted at number 11 with a runner. After determining the status of the injuries through scans, a decision will be made regarding him.
According to a statement from the team, “Nathan Coulter-Nile will undergo scans this weekend to determine damage to a calf injury suffered while bowling against the Brisbane Heat.”
The fact that Scott Boland was also out for the first game puts the Stars in a terrible situation right now.
