Irfan Pathan evaluates Cameron Green’s deal for the RCB and suggests a possible Wanindu Hasaranga successor in the IPL 2024.

After analyzing the Royal Challengers Bangalore team, Irfan Pathan proposed a player for them to choose from the next player auction in order to take Wanindu Hasaranga's spot.

After Wanindu Hasaranga was released last month, Irfan Pathan praised the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for bringing in young Australian all-rounder Cameron Green and mentioned Mujeeb Ur Rahman as a player they could select at the auction.

On Tuesday, December 19, in Dubai, the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction for the 2024 season is slated to take place. The teams are finishing up the last-minute details for this crucial day. RCB was undoubtedly one of the teams that was active in the trading window prior to the auction. They acquired Green from the Mumbai Indians for INR 17.5 crore. During the previous season, the seam-bowling all-rounder for Mumbai appeared in 16 games and amassed 452 runs with a strike rate of 160.28 and an average of 50.22. In addition, he contributed six wickets.

Irfan Pathan, a former all-rounder for India, claimed that Green would help Faf du Plessis’ team with a significant issue. The well-known pundit also thought that RCB would take Afghanistan’s spinner Mujeeb into consideration during the auction if they are unable to purchase Wanindu Hasaranga for a lower price. The release of the legendary, Sri Lankan spinner cost RCB an incredible INR 10.75 crore.

With Cameron Green joining the team, their biggest problem appears to be resolved. The middle mess is cleared up. They’ll need to get their bowling in order. Well and good, if they can get Wanindu Hasaranga back at a lower cost. If not, they could pursue men such as Mujeeb. One person who truly has the ability to remove the pitch from the equation is Mujeeb. During the Star Sports auction preview, Irfan stated, “He is essentially a mystery bowler who can bowl with the new ball and he can be pretty handy in those sorts of tough conditions for bowlers.”

IPL 2023 saw Mujeeb’s unsaleability. The young player bowled fairly well in the 2023 ODI World Cup, taking eight wickets at an economy rate of 5.59 in ten games. He did, however, miss a couple easy opportunities and occasionally act carelessly in the field.

I genuinely believe Mitchell Starc will be playing for the RCB.  Irfan Pathan

Ace Mitchell Starc, an Australian bowler, will make his IPL comeback after an eight-year absence. In the auction, he is anticipated to be a top choice. Irfan anticipates that RCB will select the seasoned player who played for them in 2014 and 2015.

Given that Mitchell Starc has experience with the RCB, I genuinely believe you may see him playing there. Being a left-armer who can bowl for 140 or more and have that extra pace on those kinds of grounds at Chinnaswamy Stadium will be crucial for RCB, so they would also want him there, the 39-year-old said.

The champion of the 2007 T20 World Cup believed that RCB had the confidence to release the seasoned Harshal Patel and free up INR 10.75 crore in their coffers after Karnataka pacer Vijaykumar Vyshak emerged last season.

“They have a really underappreciated bowler on their squad right now, Vyshak Vijaykumar, who replaced him, who may not be getting much attention. I found a great deal of admirable qualities in him. Irfan clarified, “I suppose RCB decided to leave out Harshal Patel since his slower one was extremely remarkable.

Last season, Vyshak took nine wickets in seven games. He attracted the interest of both professionals and spectators with his assortment of slower deliveries.
