The BCCI’s senior selection committee will meet in New Delhi ahead of the forthcoming South Africa tour to choose the final lineups for four important teams: India A, the T20I squad, the ODI squad, and the Test team. Owing to the importance of the World Test Championship, there is a strong desire to have a large Indian team that is prepared for Test cricket in South Africa. Virat Kohli has chosen not to play in the white-ball matches and has only stated that he is available for the two-test series.

Although Rohit Sharma has committed to missing the white-ball matches, Kohli has committed to the Tests. Later in the tour, though, Sharma is anticipated to join the team for the test matches. Three Twenty20 internationals, three one-day internationals, and two test matches are on the series schedule. The first group of players is expected to leave Bengaluru on December 6. With Hardik Pandya out, there is conjecture on Suryakumar_Yadav’s potential to continue as T20 captain.

Test cricket has been given priority, which is consistent with the team’s goal of winning a series in South Africa—an accomplishment that India has not yet accomplished—in order to improve their chances of making it to the World Test Championship final. The selection committee gives player workload management first priority following the taxing 50-over World Cup. They want to prevent players from playing in every format possible, especially to protect the bowling unit from being overused.

Prior to their visit of South Africa, 45 Indian players have their visas obtained by BCCI.

The BCCI has proactively obtained 45 Indian players’ visas, ensuring their prompt arrival in South Africa. Sitanshu Kotak and Troy Cooley will be in charge of coaching India A, and VVS Laxman, who is currently in charge of coaching Australia in the Twenty20 International Series, will take up his position as head coach at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. In order to determine the team’s future direction, head coach Rahul Dravid and selection committee chairman Ajit Agarkar recently met in Bengaluru.

Dravid, Paras Mhambrey (bowling coach), Vikram Rathour (batting coach), and T Dilip (fielding coach) all had their contracts extended by the BCCI. The selection committee is determined to ensure that players manage their workload effectively since they understand the strain that they faced during the emotionally draining 50-over World Cup. The committee is hoping for a successful tour in South Africa, a place where Indian cricket aspires to unprecedented glory, as they ramp up preparations for the trip.
