Dinesh Karthik praises Abhishek Nayar for working with Rinku Singh to develop action rather than reaction.

Dinesh Karthik

Close quarters were the source of development for Dinesh Karthik, who played with Rinku for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) from 2018 to 2021.

In Indian cricket, Rinku Singh has improved his standing as the new finisher. On Thursday, November 23, in Visakhapatnam, he struck a magnificent 22* from 14 balls to help India win the opening match of a five-match Twenty20 International series by two wickets. Both analysts and fans praised the southpaw for his mature performance.

The wicketkeeper-battler disclosed that Abhishek Nayar, the assistant coach of the two-time IPL champions, saw Rinku’s potential and took him under his wing to help him refine his talents during his time with KKR. After India’s dramatic victory against Australia, Karthik posted a photo of Nayar hugging Rinku and said that the coach has become more respected due to his student’s outstanding performance. Nayar was born in Secunderabad.

This is one of the most fulfilling and heart warming pictures going around

The relationship between ABHISHEK NAYAR n RINKU SINGH

it was a partnership that started in 2018 during my time in KKR. Nayar always saw the potential in Rinku , he kept telling me, it was only a matter of time before he did something really special.

Coming from a small town in aligarh , all he needed was to think big , and I think that shift in mindset was what nayar worked with Rinku majorly about apart from fine-tuning his death hitting skills.

Even during the time he had an ACL injury, nayar convinced
@VenkyMysore
sir who gracefully accepted Rinku to be part of the team and made him travel and stay with KKR. He stayed in nayars house post IPL for many months for Rehab and started working on his batting and had a stellar domestic season and then eventually did what Nayar and kkr always thought he could do , a MATCH WINNING FINISHER

And today when I see this photo , i just feel like NAYAR as a coach has grown in stature and can share the happiness he feels for Rinku along with the rest of the world .

Must be a surreal feeling seeing one of your students do well at a world stage and also be lucky enough to watch it live as a broadcaster and call the moment

Well done

Suryakumar Yadav, the acting captain of India, won the toss and chose to bowl first earlier in the day. Batting at number three, Josh Inglis took full advantage of the belter pitch, smashing a fifty-ball 110. Australia concluded at 208/3 in 20 overs thanks to a half-century from opener Steve Smith. Although all of the bowlers were pricey, Mukesh Kumar should be singled out for special recognition because he was the most economical bowler, giving up only 29 runs in his four overs.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, the vice captain, started off quickly in response, but he was unlucky to be run out before coming into contact with the ball. Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar made an incredible 112 runs off 60 balls after Jaiswal went for 21 off eight balls. In 12.2 overs, the home team was cruising at 134/2. But as wickets dropped one after another, Kishan went down for 58 off 39 and Suryakumar too went down for an incredible 42 off 39. Rinku, though, held his ground from one end and saw his team home with two wickets and one ball remaining.
