Pakistan’s tour of the Netherlands has been postponed indefinitely.

Due to a scheduling conflict, Pakistan planned Twenty20 International series against the Netherlands, originally slated for May 2024, has been postponed indefinitely. Under pressure from an increasingly packed schedule, the PCB asked the Netherlands Cricket Board (KNCB) to postpone the series. The team wanted to visit the Netherlands again after winning the CWC Super League in Rotterdam in 2022.

The three-match Twenty20 International match was originally scheduled for early May of next year, but Pakistan will be visiting Ireland and England shortly after their April home fixture against New Zealand. There was not much time for the team to fly for the series versus the Netherlands due to the tight schedule.

Regarding the same, Roland Lefebvre, the High Performance Manager at KNCB, expressed his disappointment at the postponing while acknowledging that they comprehended the circumstances.

“We understand the situation and are hopeful that a new window will be found to play the series, either at home or away,” Roland Lefebrve told Cricbuzz. “We’re obviously disappointed,” he said.

Pakistan seeks to recover from a disappointing World Cup performance.

In the meantime, Pakistan performed poorly in the just finished World Cup in India. Pakistan finished with eight points, winning just four of their nine games. The team placed fifth in the tournament, barely behind New Zealand in fourth place, and was eliminated before the knockout stages.

Prior to turning our attention to the shortest format, Pakistan and Australia will play a two-match Test series, starting in Perth on December 14. With Babar Azam’s resignation, Shan Masood will take charge of the Test team, bringing fresh leadership to the team.

Pakistan is eager to do better against Australia after their disappointing World Cup campaign, but given the state of the world champions, this may be quite the task.
