In the ODI World Cup 2023 Final at Narendra Modi Stadium, Australia defeated India in a sad match. All India fans were dealt a lousy hand by the Sunday, which was supposed to conclude with jubilation, and ended up feeling disappointed.
With their all-around cricket, the Pat Cummins-led team completely outclassed the Men in Blue in front of 1,25,000 spectators. India was invited to score runs after losing the toss and could only muster 240 runs. Cummins took the initiative and put India through their lowest total of the competition.
In the second inning, India had hoped to put Australia to the test, but a rejuvenated Travis Head found the match too simple, dominating all Indian bowlers, pacers or spinners. In the end, Australia became the sixth nation in history to win the World Cup, adding another feather to their already impressive cap.
Even though everyone was quite disappointed following the game, the players and spectators managed to get over it and find solace in the remarkable occasion that had just transpired. Stars from Bollywood did not lag behind in offering comfort to the team and supporters. Ayushmann Khurrana, Sonu Sood, Dia Mirza, and other actors used X (previously Twitter) to cheer up their teammates following a devastating defeat.
