The largest obstacle for Australia in the 2023 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup final will be playing in front of the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, which is expected to hold 1.3 lakh spectators. When India and Australia square off for the coveted trophy on Sunday, November 19, the world’s largest cricket arena is predicted to be packed. At Saturday’s pre-match press conference, Australia captain Pat Cummins talked about what his side expected from the Ahmedabad audience. The 30-year-old pacer stated that although Australia is aware that the crowd against India will be biased, their goal is to quiet it.

“I believe you have to accept it. Naturally, there will be a very biased crowd, but in sports, nothing is more enjoyable than witnessing a sizable crowd become silent, and that is our goal for tomorrow. Yes, you simply must accept every aspect of the final, even though you are aware that there will be increased activity, attention, and noise in the lead-up. You cannot become overwhelmed. In a video made public by the ICC, Pat Cummins stated, “You have to be ready for it, you have to love it, and you just want to end the day with no regrets.

After that, Cummins gave his thoughts on their group-stage match against India, noting the Men in Blue’s outstanding efforts throughout the competition. While acknowledging that Australia’s performance in that specific match was lacking, he emphasized their triumph in the ODI series against India that preceded the World Cup.

“They have performed incredibly well in this World Cup. Although I don’t think we scored on par in the first game, we were only one catch away from possibly winning that one. Here, early in the year, we won an ODI series. The Australian skipper continued, “There are many instances where we have triumphed over, you know, a really strong Indian side.

Fortunately, we have a 15-man team that we believe anyone can fill in for: Pat Cummins

Pat Cummins stated that talks regarding inserting all-rounders Marcus Stoinis and Cameron Green in Australia’s playing XI for the pivotal game are still ongoing, with a decision likely by Saturday night. He emphasized that Australia believes any member of their strong 15-man roster can step in and perform.

“We consider those factors—Stoinis and Green’s inclusion—potentially yes, before each game. We have a 15-man team, which is fortunately one that we think anyone can fill. Everybody is prepared to go. As a result, just like with any other game, the coaches meet and discuss their ideas for how the game should proceed before the selectors, of course, choose the starting lineup,” Cummins continued.
