The head coach of Sri Lanka, Chris Silverwood, asserts that any team would love an attack similar to India, saying they have the best bowling attack. On November 2, Thursday, Sri Lanka will play India in their seventh encounter of the 2017 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup at Mumbai’s renowned Wankhede Stadium.
India is the favourites going into the match because, after winning their first six games, they are presently top of the points table under Rohit Sharma’s leadership. Sri Lanka, with two victories and four losses, is lagging behind in seventh place.
It is evident that they have a highly potent bowling attack when you observe them in action. During Sri Lanka’s training session, the coach said to the reporters, “To be honest, I think any team in the world would want an attack like that.”
He continued by saying that playing India will be a significant test for his team and he gave them encouragement to work hard to overcome “a very good bowling attack”.
“But we think that will be a tremendous test for our boys. We view it as a chance to play against the greatest and, well, measure ourselves against that. However, it is undeniable that this bowling attack is excellent,” he continued.

Silverwood went on to say that following a loss to the same opponents in the Asia Cup final in Colombo, Sri Lanka will be extremely motivated. The 48-year-old continued, “India have shown some amazing performances in the tournament thus far. Sri Lanka has a great opportunity to show their worth when they play one of the stronger teams in the competition.”
“I would want to think that the lads would be more motivated to show up and fight, have a lot of enthusiasm, and commit to the Indian team as a result of the Asia Cup loss.
“We are aware that they are a strong team since we have watched them play some outstanding cricket thus far in this competition. However, I believe it’s a great chance for our sons to demonstrate their abilities as well. “Perhaps the boys will get motivation from the Asia Cup defeat,” the former England cricketer stated.
