South Africa has won five of the first six matches in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, demonstrating their dominance. With ten points and a good net run rate of +2.032, the Temba Bavuma-led team is positioned first in the standings. With the exception of a single defeat to the Netherlands and a thrilling one-wicket triumph over Pakistan, South Africa has dominated their opponents by winning every match by an average of more than 100 runs.

Every time they have batted first, the Proteas have amassed totals of 300 or more. In fact, during their opening match against Sri Lanka, they struck an incredible 428/5, the greatest total in the history of the ODI World Cup. In their seventh World Cup match against New Zealand, South Africa made history by hitting the most sixes in a single tournament.

With 82 sixes struck in the tournament thus far, the Proteas have surpassed England’s record of 76 maximums from the 2019 edition.

Heinrich Klaasen, who has 17 maximums to his name, is South Africa’s second-leading wrecker with 18 sixes hammered so far in the competition.

In addition to them, Aiden Markram (8 sixes from 7 innings), Rassie van der Dussen (7 sixes from 7 innings), and Marco Jansen (9 sixes, 6 innings) have all contributed significantly to South Africa’s six-hitting team. In the current edition, De Kock (545 runs), Markram (362 runs), Van der Dussen (353 runs), and Heinrich Klaasen (315 runs) have been in outstanding form as they have repeatedly taken out their anger on the opposition.
