Amid the squad’s dismal performance at the 2023 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in India, Inzamam-ul-Haq has resigned from his position as chief selector of the Pakistan national cricket team.
On Monday, October 30, the former captain of Pakistan reportedly wrote PCB chief Zaka Ashraf a letter of resignation.
“People talk without doing any investigation. I felt it was best to step down because I was being questioned,” Inzamam was cited by Geo News.

The board may face significant financial hardship as a result of the PCB’s decision to end Inzamam’s contract. According to multiple sources, PCB would have to pay the former cricket player roughly PKR 15 million, or a monthly wage of 2.5 million rupees, over the course of six months.

According to reports, Inzamam had potential conflicts of interest, which made his dismissal as the team chief selector even more difficult. It comes out that “Yazo International Limited,” a company in which Inzamam is a shareholder, is owned by cricket player agent Talha Rehmani. Rehmani has come under fire since he represents a number of Pakistan’s best cricket players, including Shaheen Shah Afridi, Mohammad Rizwan, and Babar Azam. Furthermore, it is recognized that Rizwan owns a portion of the business together with others.
Following rumors of serious disputes with the players’ main PCB contract, these disclosures were made. Before the 2023 World Cup, there were major conflicts, and they wanted a portion of the money the PCB got from the ICC.
