Hardik Pandya will miss two more matches at the ODI World Cup in 2023, but he might return for the final two league games.

While attempting to stop a ball from reaching the boundary during the match against Bangladesh in Pune last week, star all-arounder Hardik Pandya dislocated his left ankle. According to sources, the Baroda cricket player would miss India’s next two matches against England and Sri Lanka in addition to the one against New Zealand.

On October 29 in Lucknow, Rohit Sharma and company take on the reigning champs. After this contest, India will play again on November 2 when they take on Sri Lanka in Mumbai.

Presently enrolled at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore, the 30-year-old may make his way to Mumbai or Kolkata to join the team before of India’s November 5 penultimate league phase match against South Africa.

It is acknowledged that Hardik Pandya is still learning how to bowl.

He was flown urgently to the NCA to see a specialized physician from England. According to early rumors, Hardik Pandya was supposed to join the squad in Lucknow, but that arrangement has now been canceled. With the Indian side currently enjoying a five-match winning streak, the management of the team did not want to push Hardik’s return too quickly. The team was the two-time ODI World Cup champions.

In India’s most recent match against the Kiwis, Hardik’s value to the team was clear. In order to offset his versatility, Rohit Sharma’s team needed to make two substitutions. Suryakumar Yadav and Mohammed Shami took the places of Hardik and Shardul Thakur.

The latter seized the chance with both hands and demonstrated exceptional skill with the ball, finishing with 5/54 in his 10 overs. Suryakumar, however, had a great chance to accompany Virat Kohli in winning India. But due to a misunderstanding between the two players, the Mumbai hitter went out for just two runs. Eventually, India triumphed by four wickets to take the lead in the standings.
