Crowd cheers as Shubman Gill arrives for the Pakistan match during the ODI World Cup 2023 announcement by Rohit Sharma.

India is playing Pakistan in today’s highly anticipated ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 match in Ahmedabad. Rohit Sharma was questioned about team changes during the coin toss.  The fans gave Gill, who had been battling dengue fever contracted just before the World Cup started, a raucous welcome.

The crowd erupted in laughter when the Indian captain made the lighthearted announcement that Shubman Gill would be taking the field.
