Tim Southee and Lockie Ferguson are most likely going to be available for New Zealand‘s second game in the current ICC Cricket World Cup. On October 9 at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, the Kiwis and the Netherlands will square off.

Lockie Ferguson has already begun training, according to New Zealand’s head coach Gary Stead, so he will be eligible for the forthcoming match. He said that Southee did well in training as well and would get a final x-ray before the game.

Lockie Ferguson performed quite well in practice, so assuming he is clean this morning, he will be available for the following match.

Tim Southee also performed exceptionally well during the workout. Stead was reported by ESPNCricinfo as stating, “It was nice to see him back at the bowling crease and also doing a little bit of fielding as well.

“He will just get a final x-ray done this morning and we will make a call after that but it is all looking good for selection from now on and into the rest of the tournament,” he stated.

Stead added that Kane Williamson, the captain, is probably going to miss the forthcoming game. The 33-year-old missed the Blackcaps’ first match against England and is anticipated to play against Bangladesh in their third match on October 13 in Chennai.

Kane has also been making excellent improvements. I believe that he still needs to raise his game a little bit and have more faith in his physique in order to improve his fielding. But he is making great progress, and we feel very certain that he will play in our third game. Today we have more training to do, and once we have done that, we will finalize the squad. At this point, it appears that Kane will begin the tournament in the third game, the coach continued.
