Tim Southee provides an injury update and anticipates returning 'just in time' for the ODI World Cup in 2023.

Tim Southee, a fast bowler for New Zealand, had a dislocated thumb and was in danger of missing the 2018 ODI World Cup. The cricketer, though, has made significant improvement since then and has just lately begun bowling in the nets to warm up for the major competition. The 34-year-old made it clear that while he is not yet completely healthy due to some tenderness, he anticipates to get well just in time for the competition, which is set to start on October 5.

Notably, Tim Southee arrived in Ahmedabad on October 3 and noted that his injuries had made for a hectic couple of weeks. He spoke about being in a race against time but recovering just in time to leave for India. It’s interesting to note that the cricketer from Northland said he is now getting used to bowling while in pain by controlling his thumb.

It’s still a little uncomfortable around the area where the plate is because there is obviously some scarring and some numbness. So I suppose all that remains is for you to get used to that. and restarting the game of bowling. Since I haven’t played much bowling lately, I need to focus on maintaining my thumb in addition to getting my loads back up.

“The past two weeks have been quite stressful. It was a bit of a race against time to get here, but we made it, and this location is fantastic. Even without the World Cup, it’s a great site to play cricket, according to Tim Southee, who was quoted by ESPNcricinfo.

never inflicted a damage like this before: Tim Southee

In his career, Tim Southee said he hasn’t faced an injury quite like this one. He continued by saying that before the World Cup, these ailments frequently cause players’ attention to wander. He was, however, concentrated on coming up with a speedy recovery strategy so that he could get back to playing cricket as soon as possible.

“This injury was brand-new. I’ve never experienced an injury like this. I suppose that when something like that occurs so near to a global event, your thoughts begin to turn there. Given the little amount of time we had, I suppose sitting down and calculating the quickest recovery time and the best way to go back was to hammer some screws and a plate into it and pray for the best. To bring me to this point, the procedure and everyone I’ve dealt with have been excellent. So let’s hope we can continue the healing process and arrive on schedule, Southee said.
