In the Bollywood film Lagaan, Lockie Ferguson recites a well-known line.

The pace sensation from New Zealand, Lockie Ferguson, is one of those individuals who successfully rise to the challenge. His name has been added to the list of such individuals, which keeps growing. In a recent video that went viral, South African athletes were shown struggling to say the difficult term “Thiruvananthapuram.” It’s not always easy to embrace India’s language diversity, despite the fact that many players frequently try their hand at it.

The right-arm pacer, who is well-known for his quick bowling and ferocious spells, recently showed a different side of himself in a popular video published by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Monday, October 2, during the World Cup warm-ups. In the video, Ferguson was seen performing a well-known line from the renowned 2001 Bollywood sports drama “Lagaan,” in which none other than Aamir Khan starred. British actors Paul Blackthorne and Rachel Shelley contributed their acting prowess to this masterpiece of cinema.

The 32-year-old could initially be seen straining to understand the foreign language in the humorous clip shared by the ICC on their Instagram account. In spite of this, he continued and said, “Teen guna Lagaan dena padega” (which translates to, “Three times the tax has to be paid”) with flawless elegance, leaving the crowd and his fellow players in awe.

Ferguson answered in jest, “Still fixing my hair,” demonstrating his signature humor, to the ICC’s title, “Lockie Ferguson X The movie Lagaan,” which is typical of the ICC’s humour.

This is ICC’s most recent Instagram post:

Lockie Ferguson, is poised to have a significant World Cup 2023 impact.

In the world of cricket, the recent performances of the cricketer from Auckland have been nothing short of outstanding. He demonstrated his talent in the exhibition match against Pakistan, finishing with figures of 1/34. The Kiwis’ ODI series against Bangladesh was likewise led by the fast bowler, 32, who claimed two significant wickets in as many matches. He has taken eight wickets in 11 games so far in 2023, keeping an economy rate of 5.99.

Ferguson is knowledgeable about the subtleties of subcontinental conditions having worked for several franchises in the Indian Premier League (IPL), including the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Gujarat Titans (GT), and the now-defunct Rising Pune Supergiant. Ferguson will surely try to use his knowledge and talent to have a big impact during the main ICC tournament.
