After a 'utterly disastrous' 38-hour flight to India, Jonny Bairstow is furious.

Jonny Bairstow, a star pitcher and batsman for England, expressed his displeasure with the team’s lengthy 38-hour flight to India for the eagerly anticipated ICC Cricket World Cup. The team lead by Jos Buttler set out on their journey to the major competition on Wednesday.

Despite having left England more than 38 hours ago, Jonny Bairstow complained about having his side on the plane on his official social media account.

On his Instagram story, the 34-year-old posted a photo of the England team and players. The travel was also described as “utter chaos” by him. He also said, “Last leg incoming… been some trip,” and finished with an emoji of a smiling smile. He then continued, “38 hours and counting…” as the time was 21:21 local time. But this morning, September 29, England touched down in India.

On September 30 and October 2, respectively, England will face Bangladesh in one of its two exhibition games. At the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati, both games will be played. In a rematch of the 2019 World Cup final, the defending champions will open their World Cup campaign on October 5 against New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

The team under the direction of Matthew Mott will look to round off their warm-up games with victories. Notably, the current world champions rank fifth best, only behind South Africa, India, Pakistan, and Australia.

Eight of England’s nine games will be played in different cities, including Kolkata, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Dharamsala, Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, and Mumbai. Chennai and Hyderabad are the only two places England won’t visit during their nine group-stage games.

Joe Root, Harry Brook, Ben Stokes, Reece Topley, David Willey, Mark Wood, and Chris Woakes make up the England team, along with Moeen Ali, Gus Atkinson, Jonny Bairstow, Sam Curran, Liam Livingstone, Dawid Malan, and Adil Rashid.
