According to reports, Pakistani cricketers are considering boycotting World Cup promotions due to a contract disagreement.

A significant development is rumours that Pakistani cricketers are considering boycotting World Cup promotions because to a contract dispute. The cricketers’ central contract concerns may cause them to reject the sponsor logos and different promotional duties, according to the newspaper.

According to the report, the key players for the team, including Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, and Mohammad Rizwan, were each offered a monthly retainer price of PKR 4.5 million (about INR 13.22 lakh). Despite what has been said, no contracts have actually been signed as of yet. Thus, this can prompt the participants to take decisive action.

“We are happy to speak on behalf of Pakistani without charge, but we are unsure why we should highlight sponsors’ logos that are connected to the board. Similarly, we reserve the right to deny invitations to participate in campaigns and other events. We won’t participate in any ICC commercial promotions or activities during the World Cup, a Pakistani player informed Cricket Pakistan.

According to the article, the players have not yet received their payment, which has been due for the past four months. According to the report, the players have requested a portion of the sponsorship money that the PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) will receive from the ICC (International Cricket Council).

On October 6, Pakistani ODI World Cup 2023 campaign will begin.

Regarding the team’s next on-field commitments, Pakistan will be getting ready for the ODI World Cup 2023, which will start on October 5 and be entirely hosted by India. The Babar Azam-led team will play two exhibition games against New Zealand and Australia before the competition on September 29 and October 3, respectively.

Additionally, on Friday, October 6, they will play their first World Cup match against the Netherlands. Following a dismal effort in the Asia Cup 2023, Pakistan will be hoping for a stronger showing from their team in the prestigious competition.
