Teams are preparing to light the stage on fire as the ODI World Cup approaches. Prior to the World Cup, two of the favourites to win the tournament—hosts India and the five-time champions, Australia—will face off in a three-match ODI series, with the first match taking place at Mohali’s IS Bindra Stadium on Friday, September 22. Abhinav Mukund, a former India opener, named Mitchell Starc and Adam Zampa as India’s two biggest dangers. The Tamil Nadu batsman spoke about Zampa and recommended the Indian team to target the leg-spinner, pointing out that he isn’t a great ball turner.
“I believe Mitchell Starc and Adam Zampa will pose the greatest dangers to India.
Adam Zampa is a very different animal when he plays for Australia, not necessarily in the IPL based on how he has bowled against India. I believe it’s because of how he’s been used and the security he gets from the seamen nearby. In a discussion on JioCinema’s “Home of the Blues,” Mukund observed, “I think Adam Zampa becomes even more vital if they have Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, and Josh Hazlewood.
He consistently bowls well against India. He has had success bowling against Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. I believe India ought to challenge Zampa more and recognise his limited ball-turning ability. He recently introduced a googly version, but it is more of a toppy, similar to how Yuzvendra Chahal bowls it, Mukund continued.

Against the “Men in Blue,” the 31-year-old has taken 31 wickets in 19 one-day internationals. He has a strike rate of 33, an economy rate of 5.56, and an average of 30.70. Adam Zampa has also amassed a few four-wicket hauls, with his highest total of 4/45 occurring in Chennai earlier this year.
Zampa has played 14 games in India and taken 24 wickets with a strike rate of 31.20 and an average of 29.45. He has a 5.65 economy rate, which is on the high side, but given that he has taken wickets, Pat Cummins wouldn’t mind if he occasionally went for a few runs.
