However, Australia has suffered a major setback as left-arm seamer Mitchell Starc and all-rounder Glenn Maxwell have been ruled out of the first ODI, which will kick off the series. Pat Cummins, the captain of Australia, is optimistic that both players will be able to play in the series’ final two games.

Notably, Glenn Maxwell, who missed the most recent South Africa series owing to ankle soreness, will join the team on Friday, September 22 while Starc is still recovering from the groin injury he sustained during the Ashes 2023.
