Fast bowler Lockie Ferguson will represent New Zealand in the three-ODI series in Bangladesh in place of regular captain Kane Williamson and his stand-in, Tom Latham, who both missed the recently finished England series. Tim Southee will also not be available for New Zealand because he needs to get back to full strength before the World Cup after breaking a bone in his right thumb.

Dean Foxcroft, an all-rounder for Central Districts who has never played professionally, is also on the team, while Trent Boult, Latham, Matt Henry, and James Neesham are resting.
Luke Ronchi, the batting coach for New Zealand, will lead the team on this tour without Gary Stead.
Shane Jurgensen, the bowling coach, and Ian Bell, the batting coach from the ODI series against England, are joining him on the support staff.
