India was able to stay in the game and get within striking distance of a victory thanks to the performance of ace opener Shubman Gill.
Shubman Gill produced a fantastic knock for the Indian squad, scoring 121 runs in 133 deliveries while spending a lot of time at the bowling crease.
He ultimately came up short, and India dropped the match. Rohit Sharma, the Indian captain, did not hold back when praising Gill for his heroic performance after the team’s defeat. He claimed that Gill can support his pitching and knows how to time innings well.

It is important to note that India would not suffer any punishment if they lost to Bangladesh. By defeating Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the Super Four stage earlier, the team has already qualified for the Asia Cup 2023 final.
On Sunday, September 17, the tournament’s championship will take place at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo. India will compete against Sri Lanka in the championship game, and the team is hoping for a repeat performance.
