The squad has undertaken challenging fitness drills, with the yo-yo endurance test being a significant component, under the direction of its conditioning coach. Players are randomly selected following net sessions and put through a series of strenuous physical drills, which probably helped explain why they consistently perform well in all forms.

The yo-yo test requires participants to sprint back and forth between two markers that are 20 metres apart while decreasing the time between sprints. The test is an accurate indicator of an athlete’s stamina, and a player’s score is determined by how many shuttles they can finish without becoming exhausted.
India had established a minimum score of 16.1 for players as the standard during Virat Kohli’s time as captain. Even Kohli, probably one of the fittest athletes, has a lower test result than a select few players, which is interesting. Manish Pandey, who received a score of 19.2, Mayank Agarwal, who received a score of 20.1, Ahmed Banday, who received a score of 19.4, Mayank Dagar, who received a score of 19.3, and Hardik Pandya, who received a score higher than 19.
Depending on each player’s level of fitness at the time of the test, their scores are always changing.
