Before the ODI World Cup, Jonny Bairstow expressed confidence in England’s abilities: “There’s not too much to worry about cohesion.”

"Considering that the band has been performing together for seven or eight years, I don't think that's that concerning. It's one of those situations when you just slip back into your positions, according to Bairstow.

Before the ODI World Cup, Jonny Bairstow expressed confidence in England's abilities: "There's not too much to worry about cohesion."

As stated by Indianews, Jonny Bairstow said, “We’ll rock up to Cardiff and see all the lads: it’ll be just like normal. It’s great to have a group with a wealth of experience coming back together.”

England is confidently ready to defend their championship as the cricketing world anticipates the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in India next month. Jos Buttler will serve as captain of the 15-member provisional squad that the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) just unveiled for the competition.

The inclusion of all-rounder Ben Stokes, who had previously announced his retirement from ODI cricket but changed his mind in front of the 2018 World Cup, was one of the squad’s biggest surprises. In the vital ODI series against New Zealand, which will act as a prelude to the World Cup, Stokes is scheduled to make his comeback.

But some have expressed concern about the omission of renowned sprinter Jofra Archer and promising young batter Harry Brook from the starting lineup. The addition of Jofra Archer, who will only be a traveling reserve, highlights the breadth of England‘s fast bowling options.

Jonny Bairstow expresses faith in the team’s cohesiveness in spite of the squad’s diverse makeup and the difficulties presented by limited international cricket over the previous four years. The depth of experience among the players, in Bairstow’s opinion, will be crucial in overcoming any potential obstacles.

“It will be a lot of fun. There shouldn’t be too much concern about cohesion or players that haven’t played together in two, six, twelve, or even eighteen months, or whatever. Since the group has been performing together for seven or eight years, I don’t think that should cause too much concern. It’s one of those situations where you just slip back into your duties,” he continued.

The players are used to playing Test and Twenty20 cricket, and Bairstow expressed optimism that they will be able to adjust to the 50 over format as well.

Naturally, there will be discussions about things like, “Well, you guys don’t play much 50-over cricket together,” and other such things. The men, though, have been playing Test or T20 cricket, and they have the necessary talents to play both of those formats of the game in 50-over cricket. It may fling various pieces towards you.

The team’s cumulative experience and Bairstow’s unflinching faith in England’s capacity to adapt and succeed will definitely be key factors to watch out for as they begin their World Cup journey.
