In the final over of the UPT20 2023, Noida Super Kings defend 19 runs to win a nail-biting match against Kashi Rudra.

At the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur on September 6, 2023, the Noida Super Kings emerged victorious over the Kashi Rudras in a nail-biting UPT20 encounter that went into the Super Over. The Noida Super Kings won their fourth game of the season after displaying great tenacity by tying the score when they were chasing 165 runs and then defending 19 runs in the Super Over. Prashant Veer added crucial runs, tying the game with a calm 38*, then Nitish Rana emerged as the game-changer by scoring a ferocious half-century that totaled 58 runs and dominating the Super Over.

On the other side, Kashi’s Atal Bihari Rai demonstrated his prowess once more by securing an impressive four-wicket haul in the high-pressure face-off.

After being given the opportunity to bat first by the Noida Super Kings, Captain Karan Sharma (5) quickly fell victim of a castle from Kunal Tyagi and gave away his wicket. Kashi Rudras concluded the powerplay on a high note, at 45/1, with Shiva Singh (36) and Shivam Bansal (37) smacking a sequence of boundaries to help them get there. This was despite the fact that Bhuvneshwar Kumar of Noida also executed a tight spell. At the end of the tenth over, with the score reading 71-2, Shiva Singh was dismissed by a flat delivery from left-arm bowler Saurabh Kumar.

He partnered Shivam Bansal to put up 36 runs before the latter was bowled by Prashant Veer in the 15th over with the score at 107/3. Prince Yadav (50) made his intentions abundantly apparent by getting off the mark with a six over covers. After Prince Yadav and Ankur Malik (19) scored 17 runs in the 18th over, Bhuvneshwar Kumar took the wickets of Ankur Malik (19) and Priyanshu Pandey (0) in consecutive deliveries.

Then, in the 19th over, Mohamed Sharim was run out by the hat trick ball. Prince Yadav was finally run out on the penultimate delivery of the innings, but not before he completed his fifty runs off of 32 balls, which ensured that the Kashi Rudras ended their innings with 165 runs for seven wickets.

In response, the Noida Super Kings got off to a sluggish start, which resulted in the loss of Samarth Singh (5) and Arjun Bharadwaj (0) to the swing of Atal Bihari Rai. Almas Shaukat, the opener for Noida, scored 38 runs, and Nitish Rana, the number three batsman, put together a crucial partnership in the middle overs that was worth 62 runs.

However, the partnership was broken by Karan Sharma in the 11th over, which sent wicketkeeper-batsman Aditya Sharma to the crease with Noida in a position of 72/3. After six overs had been completed, Noida Super Kings were still in need of 65 runs. Atal Bihari Rai came back to finish his session and had an instant impact as he bowled Adity Sharma (12) and Osho Mohan (2) in the over, bringing his total for the evening to four wickets. Atal Bihari Rai’s return brought his tally for the evening to four wickets.

In addition, Prashant Veer, who was not out at the time with 38, was caught lbw in the 18th over, but Nitish Rana was run out on the same delivery, which was a fortuitous turn of events for Kashi Rudras. However, Prashant Veer staged a 14-run over in the 19th, and in a last-ball finish, he slammed two sixes in the final over to guarantee that the scores were level at the end of 20 overs at 165/7, culminating in a Super Over.

Nitish Rana and Osho Mohan walked out to bat for the Noida Super Kings in the Super Over. The pair were successful in hitting 19 runs off of Atal Bihari Rai’s over, with Nitish Rana scoring 16 runs off of five deliveries to set a difficult mark for the Kashi Rudras to achieve. Kashi Rudras were unable to reach the finish line because they only managed to score 11 runs off of Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s over while Karan Sharma and Prince Yadav were at the crease for their team.

Kashi Rudras and Noida Super Kings finished in a draw; NSK prevailed in the super over by 8 runs.

165 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs for Kashi Rudras (Prince Yadav scored 50 runs off of 32 balls, Shivam Bansal scored 37 runs off of 37 balls, and Shiva Singh scored 36 runs off of 28 balls; Bhuvneshwar Kumar took 2 wickets, Kunal Tyagi took 1 wicket, Prashant Veer took 26 wickets, and Saurabh Kumar took 28 wickets).

Noida Super Kings scored 165 runs in 20 overs (Nitish Rana scored 58 runs off of 49 balls, Almas Shaukat scored 38 runs off of 28 balls, and Prashant Veer scored 38 runs off of 17 balls; Atal Bihari Rai and Karan Sharma shared the loss of 1 wicket).

Over the Top.

19 runs scored in the first over for the Noida Super Kings (Nitish Rana: 16 runs off 5 balls; Osho Mohan: 1 run off 1 ball; Atal Bihari Rai: 0/19; extras: 2 runs)

Kashi Rudras scored 11 runs in one over to reach a score of 11-0 (Karan Sharma scored 10 runs in four balls, while Prince Yadav scored 1 run in two balls).
