The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will hold its forthcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM) on September 25 in Goa. The meeting’s agenda includes, among other things, the appointment of three new members to the Governing Council of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and a few topics related to the 2017 ODI World Cup, which will start on October 5 in Ahmedabad.

There may also be a discussion about the existing selection committee, according to reports. The committee was under a lot of strain when Chetan Sharma was in charge, but under Ajit Agarkar, the controversy that used to play a big part hasn’t been as prevalent. On the other side, Jay Shah, the secretary of the BCCI, has already informed all the parties of the meeting’s details.

“Notice is hereby given that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (“BCCI”) will hold its 92nd Annual General Meeting (hereafter referred to as the AGM) at the W Hotel in Goa on September 25, 2023, to conduct the business set forth in the accompanying agenda. The AGM’s time would be announced later, according to Shah, who was quoted by Cricbuzz.

Shah has presented an 18-point agenda for the AGM in the interim. The following are some of the main points:

B. Election and induction of 2 (two) General Body representatives into the IPL Governing Council.

C. Appointment of 1 (one) Indian Cricketers’ Association representative to the IPL Governing Council.

It will also be decided if the governing council needs to have more members. The only representative of the Indian Cricketers’ Association is Pragyan Ojha, while Arun Dhumal and Avishek Dalmiya represent the General Body. Whether the former cricketer stays or whether another person is added will be decided. The second choice is more likely now that the Women’s Premier League has taken off. Notably, the general body has 38 members, and each one has been informed of the AGM.
