Before the India-Pakistan match, Shadab Khan recalls Virat Kohli’s MCG masterclass, saying, “No other batsman could have done that to our bowling line-up.”

The Asia Cup 2023 match between team Pakistan and team India will take place at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy on September 2.

Shadab Khan

Virat Kohli, the flamboyant Indian hitter, received high accolades from Pakistani spinner Shadab Khan for his game-winning innings during the 2022 T20 World Cup. Notably, Kohli’s unbeatable 53-ball 82 helped the Men in Blue pull off a stunning victory against Pakistan at the venerable Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in the championship match.

Shadab Khan revived the old wounds ahead of the high-tension matchup as the two bitter rivals are now ready to face off in the Asia Cup 2023, a year later. The spinner praised the batter from Delhi and remarked that no other player in that situation could have defeated Pakistan’s deadly bowling lineup.

“Virat Kohli is unquestionably a player of the highest caliber. To fight him, you must make extensive plans. I don’t believe that any other batter in the world could have dealt that type of damage to our bowling lineup the way Virat Kohli has against us, including in the last match of the (2022 T20) World Cup. And the best part is that he is capable of doing this at any point in time, according to Shadab on Star Sports.

Since making his debut in 2008 when his team won the U-19 World Cup, Kohli has produced a number of commendable performances that have aided his team in winning games. However, his outstanding T20 World Cup century against Pakistan could be considered to be among his best ever.

In the opening round of the Asia Cup, India will face Pakistan.

The Asia Cup 2023 match between team Pakistan and team India will take place at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy on September 2. While Pakistan is already feeling good after defeating Nepal by a huge margin of 238 runs in their opening game, a win over the Men in Blue will solidify their place in the Super Four.

Similar to this, Rohit Sharma and company will try to get off to a winning start before focusing on the match against Nepal.
