It is not possible to have a strike rate of 110 while also having a 55 average: The eponymous Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma, the captain of the Indian cricket team, provided some insight about his changing batting plan, as well as its motivation and his approach to the role of captain. In the course of the last four years, Rohit has made the shift from being a player who consistently scored in the hundreds to one who prioritises aggression over a more big individual score.

Throughout his career, Rohit Sharma has established a reputation for scoring numerous hundreds and playing for extended periods of time.

However, in recent times he has purposefully adopted a more aggressive style of play. He has shifted his quest of triple-figure scores to a more offensive batting approach in order to achieve this.

“I wanted to take more risks, which is why my figures are slightly different now. My typical batting is still my patent, but I wanted to try something else. “I couldn’t be happier with the way things turned out,” Rohit Sharma was reported as saying by Sportstar.

“My career strike rate is about 90 (89.97), but in the past couple of years, if you look at my scores and take the strike rate into mind, it has been around 105-110. Therefore, you were required to make a sacrifice somewhere. It is not feasible to have a strike rate of 110 while also having a batting average of 55. Rohit stated that this high-stakes game is also a part of his quest of self-discovery.

While there has been an increase in his strike rate, there has been a slight decrease in his average. He owes this transformation to the fact that he started playing a high-risk game, which he considers to be necessary for him.

Rohit Sharma underlined that this change did not occur all of a sudden, but rather was the result of rigorous consideration and talks with the management of the team. He highlighted his eagerness to broaden his range of hitting abilities in his recent statement. In addition to this, he stated that it is impossible to have a high average while also having a strong strike rate at the same time.

Rohit has stated that he will play on grounds that are favourable for Indian bowlers after reflecting on his recent Test performances in India. This comment demonstrates his dedication to making strategic decisions regarding his batting that are in keeping with the capabilities of the Indian squad.

In response to the thought that there is a certain amount of time that a captain may be effective, Rohit Sharma criticised the notion and stated that the most essential factor is to be content with the duty.

“You are entrusted with a responsibility; you are expected to produce a result; however, what is more important is whether or not you are satisfied with the responsibility that you have been given.” This is a more crucial question than the longevity of the product,” he continued.
