Wasim Akram appeals to the cricketing world to pay attention to Nepal: "Cricket interest there is humongous.

Former Pakistani legend Wasim Akram, who feels that the world should pay attention to the quickly developing team, has seen the amazing progress of Nepal’s cricket. When Nepal competes in the Asia Cup for the first time, they will play Pakistan in Multan on August 30 and India in Kandy on September 4.

Although the India-Pakistan match has received most of the attention, Wasim Akram acknowledged Nepal’s considerable cricket advancements and the country’s expanding cricket fan base. He recalled memories of games played in Kathmandu, where fans showed up in extraordinary numbers despite the rain at the Tribhuvan University field.

“I’ve been watching Nepal. They made it and did extremely well. There, there is a huge interest in cricket. When the Asia Cup trophy was unveiled in Dubai, Akram remarked, “I’ve seen images from one of the games where the stadium was packed and half the fans were sitting in trees outside.

Akram praised Nepal on qualifying for the Asia Cup and advised them to improve their cricketing facilities so they can compete with the best teams.

“That is the game’s passion, and it will only get stronger and stronger. Congratulations to Nepal for achieving qualification. To start competing with the top teams, they simply need to enhance their domestic, first-class, and organizational structures, Akram continued.

Sports should not compete with one another: Wasim Akram

The decision of the Pakistani government to travel to India for the World Cup has been welcomed by Akram, despite the fact that the rivalry between India and Pakistan continues to be a major issue.

“I have always believed that politics and sport should not mix. I hope sanity wins because interpersonal relationships are crucial and the typical Indian and Pakistani do value and respect one another.
