The preventative measure we are taking is... The three-match ODI series in India is something we'll keep an eye on Glenn's rehabilitation for, according to Australia selector Tony Dodemaide.

Matthew Wade will take Glenn Maxwell's spot in South Africa's T20 International matches.

Australia has traveled to South Africa where they will play three T20 Internationals before taking on the Proteas in a five-match ODI series. On August 30, the opening T20I is slated to take place in Durban. One of the top players for the opposition in white-ball cricket, Glenn Maxwell, was forced to withdraw from the T20I series due to an ankle injury.

During Australia’s first practice in Durban, the seasoned campaigner hurt himself.  The three-match ODI series against India that will follow the 50-over World Cup, according to Australia selector Tony Dodemaide, is the reason Maxwell was left off the team. The 34-year-old was scheduled to quit the team after the T20I series against South Africa in order to give birth to his first child before returning for the ODI series against India.

The Australian team has drafted batsman-wicketkeeper Matthew Wade to fill Maxwell’s spot.

We are acting cautiously because Glenn was already planning to return home the following week. As the three-match ODI series in India leading up to the World Cup approaches, we will keep an eye on Glenn’s recuperation. Dodemaide was quoted by cricketmood as saying this.

Glenn Maxwell’s surgically healed left leg sustained an ankle injury.

In strange circumstances, the famous batter accidently landed on his friend’s left leg in November 2022, breaking his leg. He needed surgery to repair a fractured fibula. Maxwell’s left leg has a metal plate attached to it, and he has now, regrettably, hurt his ankle there.

Cricket fans may now breathe a huge sigh of relief because Dodemaide has stated that he has been removed from the Australia team for the T20I match against South Africa as more of a safety-first approach.
