KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer should be taken into consideration by the selectors for the next Asia Cup and the ICC Cricket World Cup, according to former India wicketkeeper-batter Saba Karim. At the National Cricket Academy (NCA), which is located in Bengaluru, both batters are now recovering and have made good progress. Ishan Kishan might perhaps replace KL Rahul if the latter is deemed unfit for the next mega-events, according to Karim. The former cricket player believed Ishan Kishan would be able to both start the innings and bat in the middle order.

Karim was reported by India Today as stating, “But if they are not fit, Ishan Kishan is a good option against Rahul since he can bat as an opener and in the middle-order.”

The 55-year-old continued by saying that there are several candidates who might take Shreyas’ place if he is unable to become fit in a timely manner. According to Karim, Suryakumar Yadav should be selected because of his background playing ODI matches both domestically and internationally.
“You have Tilak Varma, Sanju Samson, and Suryakumar Yadav to choose from if Shreyas Iyer is unfit. I, however, have experience playing one-day cricket both domestically and internationally thanks to Suryakumar. I still support Suryakumar Yadav, he continued.
