Haris Rauf and Shaheen Afridi, two cricketing legends, are saying goodbye to their respective teams as The Hundred event nears its halfway point in order to begin their national service duties. Both athletes used social media to thank one another and show support for one another.

Rauf and Shaheen Afridi each had six matches to show off their skills in between their outstanding exploits in The Hundred.

It was wonderful to experience this competition, tweeted Haris Rauf, who is noted for his ferocious pace and knack for getting wickets. Thank you, @thehundred, for having me. Though I couldn’t stay for the final, I hope my team, @welshfire, succeeds! I must now proceed to my next responsibility.
