Ibrahim Takahashi, a Japan hitter, violates Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct

Ibrahim Takahashi, a Japanese batsman, was judged to have violated Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup East Asia Pacific (EAP) Qualifier match against the Philippines in Papua New Guinea.

It was determined that Takahashi had violated Article 2.2 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which deals with misusing cricket gear, apparel, or fixtures and fittings during an international match.

There was no need for a formal hearing because Ibrahim Takahashi acknowledged the wrongdoing and consented to the proposed reprimand from match referee Wendell Labrooy.

In addition, Ibrahim Takahashi disciplinary record has been updated with one demerit point; for him, this was his first infraction in the previous 24 months. Following Takahashi’s dismissal during Japan’s innings, the incident happened. He entered the changing room and caused damage to the wall next to the entrance.

Shaun Haig, Alu Kapa, Phillip Gillespie, and Claire Polosak, the fourth official, third umpire, and on-field umpires, all leveled the accusations. Level 1 violations are subject to a minimum official reprimand, a maximum fine of 50% of the player’s match fee, and one or two demerit points.
