Despite reservations about continuing as captain of Australia in the Ashes 2023, Pat Cummins is undeterred. The visiting squad made a strong start to the trip, winning the World Test Championship final against India and the following two games against England, but Australia has struggled to maintain consistency ever since. As the leader of the group, Pat Cummins was therefore the target of criticism because many questioned his capacity for leadership.
Speaking about the same, Pat Cummins added that he hadn’t read anything that had been said in the days before Australia’s impending defeat in the fourth Test in Manchester. The cricket player continued by claiming that nothing truly upsets him anymore because he has grown a thick skin over the years.

Cummins is confident in his abilities to lead the national squad in spite of the criticism. The cricketer clarified that it does have a shelf life and that he will resign his post at some point, but he hasn’t yet chosen when.
It does, in my opinion, have a shelf life. I won’t provide a date because I must first travel there. You just get exposed to more stuff with each game, in my opinion, and I feel like every Test match I learn quite a bit. I adore working with this group of people and the staff. Currently enjoying it; we’ll see what the future brings. I think I’m getting better with each game, and I still have a lot left in me, Cummins said.
