Reportedly, the India-Pakistan Asia Cup match is slated to take place on September 2 in Kandy.

The 2023 Asia Cup will now begin on August 29 instead of August 30, with Pakistan and India’s match slated for September 2 in Kandy, Sri Lanka. This modification was made by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). The event will begin in Multan with hosts Pakistan against Nepal, with the summit match scheduled for Colombo on September 17, according to information received by CRICKETMOOD.

The most recent draft schedule, which contains these games, is likely to change again before the ACC announces the official one. The original draft schedule produced by the PCB (the hosting body) has undergone numerous adjustments as a result of the six-nation tournament being played in Pakistan and Sri Lanka in accordance with the hybrid concept recently approved by the ACC.

There will be 13 games in the event, and they will all start at 1 p.m. Pakistan Standard Time, and at 1.30 p.m. Sri Lanka Standard Time, and Indian Standard Time, respectively. While Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan are in Group B, Pakistan, India, and Nepal are in Group A.

Both groups’ top two teams advance to the Super Four phase,

Where the top two teams proceed to the final game. With the exception of Nepal, five of the six teams competing in the 50-over Asia Cup are essentially getting ready for the ODI World Cup, which gets underway in India on October 5.

Originally, the PCB intended for Pakistan to host all four of its games in a single city. Multan was added as a second location, however, as soon as the new PCB management, led by new chairman Zaka Ashraf, assumed control earlier this month. The draft schedule states that Multan will only host the first game, whereas Lahore will host three matches and one Super Fours game.

On September 3 in Lahore, Afghanistan will take on Bangladesh, while on September 5 at the Gaddafi Stadium, Sri Lanka will play Afghanistan. According to the draught schedule, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will remain in positions B1 and B2, respectively, while Pakistan and India will remain in positions A1 and A2, regardless of how they fare in the first round.

If they made it to the Super Four stage, Nepal and Afghanistan would take the place of the team that was eliminated. It will either be a position for Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in Group B or for Pakistan or India in Group A. Only the Super Fours game between A1 and B2 on September 6 will take place in Pakistan according to the draft schedule. The two teams will play again on September 10 in Kandy if both India and Pakistan make it to the Super Fours.
