India’s Development-As his team’s top batsman in the opening match of the ACC men’s Emerging Team Asia Cup 2023, Yash Dhull led from the front. When Dhull went on to produce his first List-A century against the United Arab Emirates (UAE-A), the team was able to successfully chase down the 176-run target. Notably, the team led by Yash Dhull put on a flawless performance. The Indian bowlers initially displayed outstanding bowling, and the skipper and Nikin Hose then successfully chased down the mark with 141 balls remaining.
India-A of the Emerging Team choose to bat first against UAE-A of the Emerging Team after winning the toss. Jonathan Figy, who was bowled by Harshit Rana, was the wicket that the Emirates lost in the very first over. After 14 overs, half of UAE-A’s team was already back in the hut. Ashwanth Valthapa led all batsmen in scoring with 46 off 107 balls, followed by opener Aryansh Sharma‘s 38 off 42 balls. In the end, Mohammed Faraazuddin’s (35 off 88 balls) helped his team reach 175/9 in their allotted 50 overs
Speaking of India-A’s bowling performance, Harshit concluded with four wickets and was the standout bowler, while Nitish Kumar Reddy struck out two batters, resulting in an average score for the opposition at the end of their innings. Regarding the run chase, India A was predicted to comfortably reach the mark, but UAE’s early dismissal of Sai Sudharsan in the third over gave them a shock.

Following that, Ali Naseer dismissed the opener, Abhishek Sharma, in the sixth over. The skipper Dhull showed up to the crease at this point. Nikin Jose and Dhull batted consistently to pursue the aim. The 20-year-old Dhull played traditional shots during his innings, with Jose providing the ideal amount of support.
In India’s inaugural game, Yash Dhull took the initiative by scoring his first List-A century.
Speaking of the Emerging India in the meantime:While Jose only hit five boundaries for his 41 runs in 53 deliveries, Yash Dhull, the skipper, struck 20 boundaries and one six during his unbeaten (108* off 84 balls) innings. With the Indian captain playing the offensive role and the latter providing support by rotating strikes, the pairing was nicely balanced.
Now, on July 17, India A will play Nepal in their second league match, and on July 19, their titanic match versus Pakistan will take place. Nepal just suffered a defeat at the hands of Pakistan by a margin of four wickets.
