Test cricketer Sami Aslam criticized the domestic system in Pakistan and issued a warning to the governing body, saying that if it doesn’t change, many cricketers may leave the nation in search of a safe career in the United States of America (USA). Aslam, in particular, is the first of his kind to leave his country and move to the United States. He will play for the Texas Super Kings in the inaugural season of Major League Cricket.

When asked about his choice, the opener said he was extremely happy with it and even revealed that some of the current cricketers competing in Pakistan’s domestic circuit had indicated a wish to leave as well because the Pakistan Cricket Board had not done anything to financially protect them.

He continued by noting that although players in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) feel secure, the PCB hasn’t paid much attention to those who toil in four- or five-day cricket.

Only cricket players who compete in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) consider their futures guaranteed. According to a quote from Aslam by Cricket Pakistan, “I would call it a failure of Pakistan cricket because the players who participate in four-day matches do not at all consider themselves secured, and you also know that those who play the entire domestic match don’t receive anything significant from it in terms of remuneration.

According to him, “those who only play in the PSL consider themselves secure, but even the top cricketers who have represented Pakistan want to move.”

Sami Aslam gave the Unity Cup in the USA, where 20 to 30 domestic players recently competed, as an illustration. In only one week, they made enough money to pay for four months’ worth of work (relative to what they would make in Pakistan). He therefore thinks that many of the players will be enticed to switch teams if PCB doesn’t take notice.

The Unity Cup event, which was recently conducted in Washington, DC, saw the participation of a sizable number of cricketers, including 20 to 30 current domestic players from Pakistan. The event lasts for one week, and during that time, a player can make as much money as they would over a four-month season of four-day matches, according to the 27-year-old.
