Reports say that the BCCI will make up for the World Cup 2023 places that were left out by giving them bilateral games.

To make up for this, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) plans to let these places host ODI matches during India’s home season when it’s not their turn. Reports say that BCCI head Jay Shah came up with the idea that the places where World Cup games will be played will give up their rights to host ODI matches during India’s home season.

For the first time, the 50-over World Cup will take place only in India. Ten different places all over the country will host the main event. During the World Cup, the games will be held in Delhi, Dharamsala, Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, and Lucknow.

On October 5, the first game will be between defending champion England and New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. On November 19, the final match of the 10-team event will also take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium. India loves cricket more than any other country in the world and has more formal cricket stadiums than any other country. Because of this, some places didn’t get to host World Cup games.

In a letter to the state units, Shah told them that all of the leaders at the ten World Cup sites agreed with his plan.

“At our meeting, I had suggested a way to make sure that the games in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 would be spread out fairly. I asked the organising associations, except for Assam and Kerala, which were given warm-up games, to give up their chance to host an ODI during the bilateral international season. This idea was put forward to help the state groups that missed out on hosting Cricket World Cup games.

According to NDTV Sports, Shah wrote in the letter, “I am happy to tell you that all the participating associations agreed with and supported the proposal.”

Warm-up games for the World Cup will be played in Guwahati and Thiruvananthapuram, which will also keep the right to host games during India’s home season.
