The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) wants to come up with a strategy for retired Indian players who want to play in T20 leagues. It is known that there isn’t a strategy for this right now, and the BCCI wants to make one.
According to a story in Cricbuzz, Indian players who have retired will have to wait a certain amount of time before joining a T20 league. The length of the cooling off time will be decided by the Board of Control for Cricket in India at a meeting of the Apex Council on July 7.
The choice is said to have been made because many Indian players have said they were retiring and then joined a T20 league a week later.
The past players were offered a lot of money to play in the T20 leagues, and the BCCI thought this could be a problem in the future. With T20 leagues growing all over the world, it could be a real problem for the BCCI if retired players were to join the league right after they stopped.
BCCI is also thinking about a lot of important choices.
At the BCCI meeting, the Apex Council will also talk about the men’s and women’s teams’ involvement in the upcoming Asian Games. The BCCI was said to be sending both the men’s B team and the women’s team to the event.
Also, the group in charge wants to change the rule about impact players for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Before, the game had a different rule about impact players than the Indian Premier League (IPL). But the BCCI wants to keep the rules the same for both the IPL and the domestic event, which doesn’t have too many rules.
