Former England captains have criticised the home team for making bad shot choices that gave Australia the lead on Day 2 of the second Ashes Test.

English legends David Gower, Michael Vaughan, and Nasser Hussain have been very harsh on Team England because they let Australia get back into the game by throwing away their wickets after a great first-wicket combination. After Australia’s first test was over, with 416 runs scored, England was off to a great start. As Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett added 91 runs for the first wicket, they looked very at ease in the middle.

But Crawley lost his wicket to Nathan Lyon when he tried to hit a big shot and got caught out. After that, Duckett kept playing some beautiful hits on his way to a great 98-run knock. He then tried to hook Josh Hazlewood, but failed and gave the ball to David Warner. After he was out, England went from being in a good situation at 188/1 to being in trouble at 222/4. Harry Brook and Ben Stokes made sure that the home team didn’t lose any more wickets on the way to 278.

Vaughan, on the other hand, criticised Crawley’s strategy and said that the present England team doesn’t know when they are in charge. At that point, Crawley didn’t need to throw his wicket. The former captain of England also brought up concerns about the “Bazball” style, saying that it can’t be explained every time because the game is changing.

“This England team’s problem is that they don’t know where they stand in the game.

They just keep doing things the Bazball way. “There is no reason for that firing,” the former captain of England said while giving a review for the BBC.

“Well bowled” is what you say if you get a beauty on a pitch like this. But there won’t be many beauty balls on this surface any longer. Just act like an adult!” Vaughan came to an end.

I’m sick of people running down the pitch when they’re playing well and missing the ball: Gower

While many other English greats gave their thoughts on England’s “Bazball” strategy in the second Ashes Test, which is still going on. In the same way, the famous David Gower criticised the hosts’ approach and told Bazball to get smarter because he was tired of seeing players lose wickets by dancing down the track.

“I want Bazball to learn new things and get smarter.” “I’m sick of people running down the pitch and missing the ball when they’re playing well,” Gower said.

Another former England captain had something to say about how the home team bats. Nasser Hussain also questioned why the England bowlers were taking such bad shots when there were three people waiting for them to make a mistake on the boundary.

“There were times when the odds weren’t in their favour. When there are two guys out, the pull shot and the hook shot are fine. But when there are three men out, the odds and risks are no longer in your good,” Hussain said.
