Alice Davidson-Richards and Alice Capsey have been released from the England A Test squad.

Alice Davidson-Richards, an all-rounder bowler for England, and Alice Capsey, a young bowler, have been cut from the Test squad for the impending Women’s Ashes match. Both players have been released in order to play for England A in their inaugural Twenty20 match against Australia A on June 21 at Haslegrave.

Capsey, who has not yet debuted in a test, will have to wait a bit longer. Recently, the 18-year-old played for England against Australia A and had a subpar performance, scoring nine runs and taking no wickets in seven overs.

Alice Davidson-Richards, on the other hand, has only participated in one Test match for England, in which she claimed one wicket and scored 107 runs. She recently participated in a few warm-up games for England A, in which she scored 34 runs and took no wickets in 12 overs.

The A-side exerted intense pressure on the entire Australian team. Richard Bedbrook

Head of Performance for England Women, Richard Bedbrook, commented on England’s team composition, stating that they recently tested the full-fledged Australian team to their limits and are eager to continue their development in the T20 series.

“We are extremely excited to get our T20 series underway. The A-side pushed the full Australian team hard during the three-day warm-up, and with a number of quality individual performances, we’re very eager to continue competing against the Australian A-side in the T20 format,” Cricketer quoted Richard Bedbrook as saying.

“Jon Batty will captain the A team throughout the T20 and 50-over series. Jon has had success in The Hundred with Oval Invincibles and has extensive experience in white-ball competitions around the world,” he added.

Maia Bouchier, Alice Capsey, Alice Davidson-Richards, Freya Davies, Charlie Dean, Mahika Gaur, Sarah Glenn, Bess Heath, Freya Kemp, Paige Scholfield, Bryony Smith, Linsey Smith, and Lauren Winfield-Hill comprise the England Women A squad for the 1st T20.

Heather Knight, Tammy Beaumont, Lauren Bell, Kate Cross, Sophia Dunkley, Sophie Ecclestone, Lauren Filer, Dani Gibson, Amy Jones, Emma Lamb, Nat Sciver-Brune, Issy Wong, and Danni Wyatt make up the England Women’s Test squad.
