I believe it is a tad inconsiderate and cruel. - Simone Callahan, ex-wife of Shane Warne, reacts to Channel Nine's miniseries on the Australian cricket legend.

Shane Warne ex-wife, Simone Callahan, has criticised Channel Nine’s new miniseries about the deceased cricketer.

The Australian series titled ‘Warnie‘ will premiere on June 25. The film “Warnie” was shot in Melbourne, and it dramatises Warne’s sensational cricketing career. Alex Williams and Marny Kennedy, both Australian actors, will portray Warne and Callahan, respectively.

Callahan stated that she will not read much about the mini-series because it is cruel and hateful. The 53-year-old also confirmed that Shane Warne has passed away, requesting that broadcasters allow him to rest in peace. Notably, the spin wizard died of a heart attack while on vacation in Thailand on March 4, 2022, at the age of 52.

“I didn’t want to read too much into it, but to be honest, I believe it’s a bit unkind and cruel. He has recently passed away; let him rest in tranquilly. And with regard to the children, I believe they are demonstrating no compassion by releasing this information so soon after the incident. “To be completely honest, I feel this way,” Callahan told the Herald Sun.

Earlier, the cricketer’s eldest daughter, Brooke Warne, expressed her opposition to Channel Nine’s decision to produce a miniseries about her father. Brooke stated that Channel Nine is ‘beyond deferential’ towards her father, who has spent 23 years as a cricket commentator for the network.

“Have any of you any regard for Dad? Or his household? He did so much for Channel Nine, and now, six months after his death, you want to dramatise his life and that of our family? You are beyond inconsiderate, Brooke wrote on Instagram.

Previously, 9 Network stated that they are looking forward to working with the family as filming continues. They also asserted that the miniseries would be an appropriate homage to the Australian legend.
