Former Australian cricketer Justin Langer has recently spoken out about his resignation as head coach of the national team, stating that it was a tremendous blow to him. After being presented with a demeaning six-month contract extension, Langer decided to resign from his position. Several players on the team reportedly had reservations about Justin Langer coaching approach and found him intimidating.
The most difficult aspect of the incident, according to the former leadoff hitter, was learning that he had a dispute with his colleagues. Moreover, he referred to all participants as his sons and claimed that the fallout’s narrative caused him the most pain.
“The most difficult aspect of the conclusion of my coaching career was learning that I had fallen out with my players. This absolutely shattered my heart. Current day. I saw them all this week and throughout the summer. They resemble your children. I spent four years with them as if they were my sons. Then, I continued to read that I had fallen out with my teammates. But nothing was ever made public, and yet I continued to read this account. This has caused me the most pain. Under Langer’s leadership, Australia recovered from the repercussions of the sandpaper-gate scandal, retained (drew) the Ashes in England after 18 years, won their first-ever T20 World Cup in 2021, and won their second consecutive Ashes series at home by 4-0. However, Justin Langer was unable to retain his position, and in April 2022, Andrew McDonald was named the new head coach.

Langer stated that he has never been happier because he is able to spend so much time with his family during his time away from coaching.
“I have never been happier. I have cherished my existence for the past eighteen months. I have spent two months at home and ten months absent for thirty years. Now I am at home for 10 months and abroad for 2 months,” he added.
Australia is keen to win their first Ashes series in England since 2001, having recently won the World Test Championship 2023 final.
