"At times, it will be a lot of fun and a lot of fighting," - Alex Carey responds to Ollie Robinson's joy after Usman Khawaja's wicket.

Usman Khawaja, the first batsman for Australia, was amazing with the bat. Thanks to his work, Australia got 386 runs in the first inning. All of Australia’s top batters had trouble getting going on a pitch, but Khawaja kept his cool and stayed at the crease. This helped the visiting team make an amazing comeback in the first Ashes Test. Notably, England looked upset because none of their plans from the start were really working. Then, captain Ben Stokes changed how the pitch was set up and came up with ‘Brumbella’.

He put six fielders in position to catch the ball inside the 30-yard circle to put pressure on Khawaja. When the 36-year-old saw the same, he took the dare and tried to dance down the track to hit a boundary. However, Ollie Robinson’s pitch-perfect yorker beat him.  After that, the best runner was seen celebrating aggressively as he ran towards the batter and yelled obscenities at him as he left.

Khawaja hit his first century in England, but he had to walk back to the pavilion after getting 141 runs. This made the Australian dressing room sad. Alex Carey, the stumper-batsman for Australia, said that he didn’t see Robinson’s violent celebration from the dressing room, but he expected something similar because the Ashes are always full of exciting cricket and hostile situations.

“I didn’t see it. Usman hasn’t said anything. It’s an Ashes, so there will be times when it’s both exciting and rough. “I was sitting there sad that I had to leave, but I didn’t see anything crazy,” Alex Carey was quoted as saying by India Today.

Just because it’s the other way around, people don’t like it: Robinson

Ollie Robinson tried to defend himself by saying that Australia had done similar things in the past, but the media didn’t say anything. However, since an Englishman did it this time, it hasn’t been well received. The pacer also said that because everyone is so excited about the Ashes, things like this can happen in the heat of the moment.

“That can happen when you’re in the heat of the moment and have the fire of the ashes. We’ve all seen Ricky Ponting and other Aussies do the same thing to us, and it’s not well accepted just because the shoe is on the other foot,” Robinson said.
