“Don’t mean to be rude, but they’re not to be feared,” Kevin Pietersen says of England’s fast bowlers in the first match of the Ashes.

"Don't mean to be rude, but they're not to be feared," Kevin Pietersen says of England's fast bowlers in the first match of the Ashes.

Kevin Pietersen, a former England player, talked about how he feels about England’s fast bowlers in the Ashes Test that is going on at Edgbaston in Birmingham. In the first Test of the five-match series, people have been more interested in how brave Ben Stokes was as captain. On Day 1, the English captain called the game when they had 393 runs and 8 wickets left. Joe Root (118* off 152) hit his 30th century in the oldest version of the game.

Stokes got rid of Steve Smith, which was a big wicket. Moeen Ali took two wickets, and England’s fast bowlers James Anderson, Stuart Broad, and Ollie Robinson took seven wickets as a team. Even though the English pacers are good with the ball, Kevin Pietersen thinks they shouldn’t be feared. The former all-rounder also said that Mitchell Johnson and Shoaib Akhtar, two other past players, were faster than them.

“There’s a reason why the bowlers went for short balls there: Travis Head has a problem, which we and everyone else agree on. I don’t mean to be rude to the single bowling line-up, but the England pacers are not something to be afraid of. And I’ll say that from the speed point of view, where you have bowlers going 80 or 83 miles per hour. You don’t have Mitchell Johnson, Shoaib Akhtar, or even Mark Wood going in at 95. “Woody is going to run in and test you.” Kevin Pietersen asked Sky Sports.

Kevin Pietersen said that Travis Head wants to be more bold when talking about how hard it is for him to hit short balls. The 42-year-old then said that his former partner, Jonathan Trott, had been in a similar situation as Head when they were both playing.

“So if you want to play in a natural way, you need to be smart about it. When compared to Stuart Broad’s 82-83 and Ollie Robinson’s 80-82,. I’m sorry, but he didn’t play it as well as he should have, and there is no way. So it’s a problem, and when a short ball is thrown at you, it shakes you up as a hitter.

“I remember that with Jonathan Trott. When Jonathan was batting a three with us and everyone started going short to him, it really shook his roots as a batter. So it’s a problem for Head,” the ex-cricketer said.

On Day 3 of the first session, Australia was bowled out for 386. But Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley, England’s openers, were taken out by Australia’s Pat Cummins and Scott Boland on the third day, which was cut short by rain. At the end of the day, England was winning by 35 runs with a score of 28-2.
