"We have an advantage in India," said Kagiso Rabada about South Africa's hopes in the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023.

South African fast bowler Kagiso Rabada is enjoying his time off from cricket as he gets ready for a busy schedule. On August 30, South Africa will host a white-ball match against Australia. The Proteas will then go to India to compete in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, which will start on October 5 in India.

Kagiso RabadaKagiso Rabada thinks that the fact that several Proteas players have played in the IPL gives South Africa an edge going into the World Cup. In IPL 2023, players like David Miller, Kagiso Rabada, Quinto de Kock, Anrich Nortje, Tristan Stubbs, and others were seen on the pitch.

“I do think that we have an edge going into the World Cup in India because we have played in the IPL for so long. We’ve played at most of the grounds, if not all of them, so we know how they are,” Kagiso Rabada told IOL.

Kagiso Rabada has taken 106 wickets in 69 IPL games, with an average of 20.74 and an economy of 8.42.

The fast bowler was the first to get 100 wickets in the T20 tournament. He did this in just 64 matches, which was faster than anyone else. In IPL 2023, he took seven wickets for the Punjab Kings in six games, but his team didn’t make it to the playoffs.

The 28-year-old didn’t do very well in the 2019 ODI World Cup. He took 11 wickets in nine games, with an average of 36.09, but his team lost in the league stage and was knocked out of the tournament.

Will South Africa change its luck at the ODI World Cup in 2023?

Notably, South Africa has never made it to the final of an ODI World Cup since their first showing in 1992. In the 2015 event, the Proteas lost four straight knockout games before they finally won against Sri Lanka. But they lost to New Zealand in the semi-final and were out of the tournament.

As they attempt to make history on Indian land, the Temba Bavuma-led team will be praying for a change of fortune in the upcoming game.

I think David Warner will score some runs at Edgbaston if he starts the same way he did in the first innings: Ricky Ponting is a famous cricketer.
