When Australia defeated India by 209 runs to win the World Test Championship (WTC) in 2023, Pat Cummins and his team made history. Over the course of five days, the Aussies were better at every part of the game than India. In the first inning, Steve Smith and Travis Head did a great job, while Scott Boland and Nathan Lyon did a great job with the ball when India tried to reach a goal of 444 runs.

When Day 5 started, Ajinkya Rahane and Virat Kohli were at the crease. However, Lyon and Boland were so good that the Indian openers had to leave the crease quickly. After Australia won the game by 209 runs, there was a party because they had won the final Test match and their first WTC title. As the parties began, many photos were taken of the players with their families, who were just as happy about the title win.

As pictures of the parties went viral on social media, there were many things that happened on the pitch after the game that the players will remember for years to come. At the Oval, the players’ wives and children ran onto the pitch as the Australian team did a victory lap.

In a heartwarming photo, Usman Khawaja’s and Marnus Labuschagne’s girls are seen wearing their dads’ baggy green caps. Also, Player of the Match Travis Head was seen standing with his daughter and wife next to him while holding the WTC mace.

Also, as has been done for a long time, Nathan Lyon led the players in singing “Under the Southern Cross” on the pitch after the historic win. Alyssa Healy, the captain of the Australian women’s team, was also seen drinking a beer with her husband, Mitchell Starc, and other players.

After the ecstatic celebrations, Australia would like to get back to work as soon as possible. They will play England, under the captaincy of Ben Stokes, on June 16 at Edgbaston. Also, it will be interesting to see how things go when England plays against Australia, who are known for their “Bazball” style of play.
